Students can write a story with a partner or write stories individually.
Writing with a partner is very motivating for many students and pairing a less confident writer with a more confident writer is an effective way to build writing skills and writing confidence.
You can use a picture as a writing prompt in a solo exercise or with a class or writing group.
If doing the exercise in a group, you can either have everyone use the same picture, or you can have a selection of unique images for each writer.
Adding a face to faceless body image is one of the favorite writing projects for my students.
First the teacher needs to print a variety of faceless bodies on plain paper. The only thing we want you to be ready for is that your first results may be far from your expectations. To simplify your journey to being a writer, start small. These forms are not less creative than epic sagas or fantasy series, but you at least won’t be overwhelmed by thousands of pages to edit.Consider having each student or group member bring in a picture and trade with someone else. The picture can be a personal photograph, a clipping from a magazine or just about any image that that has the potential to inspire. This page can be used for the cover of the published book.My class created this cover page first, then shared their story ideas with each other, and then planned and wrote their stories. The writing does not have to be exactly what the picture is about, but it should be inspired by the picture.Pictures are a perfect springboard to writing either a personal narrative or a fictional narrative. Thus, this type of writing is mostly presented in fiction, however, creative non-fiction, autobiographies, and poetry are also sorts of creative writing.A distinctive feature of creative writing is the use of vivid images and a poetic way of delivering ideas.
